Description In memory of Tony Williams, the Actuarial Foundation of Canada has donated $5,000 to create scholarships for Indigenous Canadian students pursuing university studies in mathematics-related programs. Tony was a prominent actuary who devoted years of his life to promoting the success of Indigenous people and students. Among his seminal contributions were his many years as president and chair of the Verna J. Kirkness Education Foundation, whose purpose is to increase the number of Indigenous students graduating from pure and applied science, engineering and mathematics university programs in Canada. Two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to students, one in 2024, and one in 2025. Awardees must meet the following criteria:
